Where to Stay in Tahoe - The Coachman Hotel
Lake Tahoe is one of the most spectacular places in Northern California. It is a very large area with crystal clear water to the surrounding mountains where there is something for everyone. There are several areas to choose from but usually coming from the bay area, south lake area is much easier and faster to access and for those coming through Reno, the north shore area is closer.
We decided to finally take our daughter to see snow during the winter month. The Coachman Hotel seemed like a great fit for our family as it was very centrally located, just a few blocks away from Lake Tahoe and the Heavenly Mountain Resort.
The Coachman Hotel is simple and modern, which has stylish yet practical rooms for families furnished with beautiful designer pieces by Jason Pickens, Brendan Sowerby, Stephen Kenn and so on. The warm wood interior, vintage rugs and contemporary finishes make you feel like you are staying at a friends vacation home instead of a hotel. There is complimentary waffles, eggs, orange juice, coffee in the mornings and in the evenings the outdoor fire pits are accompanied with s’more kits. When traveling with young kids we like to spend the days out exploring but come evening we love to hang around the hotel. That’s why we knew this place would be a great fit for us, not too big of a hotel but the right size for us to hang out in the lobby area where they offer games, good tunes and a drinking bar not too far from our room.
Some additional beneficial features and amenities of the hotel included: apple tv, heated toilet seats (which is essential in colder months!), Malin + Goetz products, free parking, fire pits, heated pool, coffee & drink bar, dog friendly, suites available with fireplace.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay at The Coachman Hotel and can’t wait to come back for more winter trips and summer weekend getaways.
Happy adventures!
